Dog Sitter Austin

Tbone and Clemintine, negotiating.

I am a university professor and fiction writer who lives in Nashville. My elderly dog died last year and now I welcome furry companionship on my downtime from teaching. In Nashville, I charge the big bucks, but I have a Zilker neighborhood discount while I check out Austin as my next residence.

I am coming to Austin to work with a writing client in early June for a week or two. We’ll be staying at the Carpenter Hotel. After she leaves, I'd like to remain in the neighborhood for some or all of the summer. I can stay home with your dog(s) (and other pets) for lengthy periods as I am working on a novel.

I spent six months last year nannying Sassy (at left) a rescue dog undergoing lengthy and intensive medical treatment—she’s now healthy and adopted to her forever home. Her rescuer, Michele Buc, will be happy to give me a reference.

I am accustomed to a needy animal. I am able to handle most pets that are dog/cat aggressive, chew, or have separation anxiety, should that be needed. I've had dogs my entire adult life and I am very trustworthy and genuinely affectionate toward animals in my care.

With my own fur baby, I had some terrible experiences with pet sitters, so I am empathetic to your situation and really listen to what you need. I am able to follow precise directions and will care for your pet in the unique way that they require.

I do not have breed prejudice.

My old man (below) was pretty spoiled and if you don't want your animal getting bad habits (like co-sleeping) I will always go with your preferences in all things. I know basic (and some fancy) dog training and can be alpha/firm if that's your wish-otherwise I'm the spoiler aunty.
